Filigree Yoke Sweater

Filigree (lat. filum: thread and granum: grain) – a sweater knitted top down with both stranded colourwork and bobbles in the yoke. The pattern in the yoke reminds me of a piece of filigree jewelry; an intricate metalwork of gold or silver, often made with small beads. This sweater is knit in worsted weight yarn; Svensk Ull (“Swedish Wool”) from Järbo Garn, which gives both warmth and comfort.

Sizes:

  • Size range: 1, 2, 3 (4, 5, 6)

  • Chest circumference: appr. 74, 84, 94 (104, 114, 124) cm / 29, 33, 37 (41, 45, 49) inches

  • Garment finished bust circumference: appr. 80, 90, 100 (110, 120, 130) cm / 32, 36, 39 (43, 47, 51) inches

  • Garment total length from back neck (incl. neckband): appr 64, 64, 65 (67, 69, 70) cm / 25, 25, 25.5 (26.5, 27, 27.5) inches

  • Intended ease: appr. 6 cm / 2.5 inches of positive ease or your preferred ease.

 

Yarn:

  • Main colour: Järbo Svensk Ull 100% wool 180 m / 196 yards per 100 g. in colourway Gotland Grey: 400, 500, 500 (600, 600, 700) gr

 

  • Contrast colour: Järbo Svensk Ull 100% wool 180 m / 196 yards per 100 g. in colourway Buttercup Yellow: 100, 100, 100 (100, 100, 100) gr

 

Needles:

  • Circular needles 40, 60 och 80 - 120 cm / 16, 24 and 32 – 47 inches: 3.5 mm / US size 4 and 4.0 mm / US size 6

  • Double pointed needles: 3.5 mm / US size 4 and 4.0 mm / US size 6

Gauge:

  • 19 sts x 27 rds = 10 cm / 4 inches in stockinette in the round, on needle 4.0 mm / US size 6
