Östgötadräll Twined Knitted Mittens

bild5.jpg

The inspiration for these twined knitting mittens came from the region of Östergötland, in the eastern part of Sweden. I have taken parts from a traditional weaving pattern - Östgötadräll - and used a stylized part of the pattern on the back of the hand. On the palm there is an easily knit pattern that makes the mitten a rather quick knit despite the twined knitting technique.

I wish you happy knitting!
