Sockmania?
This is my #boxosox. I intend to fill it with (at least) 12 pairs of socks in fingering weight by the end of the year. Good luck to me. Well, I´m actually doing well this far. Next to the lovely box, purchased at Swedish store Åhléns, are my February socks, in yarn from Austermann. It´s Austermann Step with Aloe Vera, in the colourway "Lieblingsfarben" ("favourite colours", and that is quite true; pink and grey are my favourites). I haven´t worn those yet, so I can´t tell if the Aloe Vera content is actually good for the feet, but I promise to give a review when I do.
Above are my January socks in yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners, their 4-ply Signature. Don´t you just love those colours?
And, these are my March socks, not quite finished yet, but hey, April has just begun... This is sock yarn from Regia, their Arne & Carlos line, in the colourway Summer Night. I have used white Drops Fabel for cuffs, heels and toes. I´m particularly pleased with that, I think the white contrast really emphazise the patterning in the yarn. Gorgeous.
All this Sockmania has it´s origin in a year long KAL, knit along, that Kristin Lehrer from the Yarngasm podcast is hosting, the #boxosoxkal2017. All you have to do is knit 12 pairs of socks in fingering weight during the year, and put them in a nice box. I gave it a try last year, but didn´t manage to knit quite as many socks. This year I´m prepared :-) and I have LOTS of sock yarn to choose from.
What you can see on top of the box is a skein from Swedish indiedyer Limmo Design which I picked up last fall at the Sewing and Crafting fair in Stockholm. It is named "Ninja Girl" and is going to become my April socks. Haven´t decided on which pattern yet, but I definately want to try something new. A different heel or something.
